Tren de Aragua back in the headlines
A violent home invasion in Aurora, Colorado upends narrative the gang's activity is "limited."
Over the summer, Americans were told not to believe our lyin' eyes about the Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang activity in apartment complexes in Aurora, Colorado.
"Based on our initial investigative work, we believe reports of TdA influence in Aurora are isolated," the Aurora Police Department said in an Aug. 29 statement about concerns over TdA's activities.
The police department statement was similar to that of a Sept.11 statement by Aurora's Mayor Mike Coffman and one of the city council members. The statement claimed "limited" activity and blamed social media for spreading untrue claims... which have turned out to be true.
Aurora City Council member Danielle Jurinsky was nearly alone in speaking out about what was happening in her city, with ColoradoGovernor Jared Polis calling the claims about TdA’s takeover being her “imagination.”
Well, eyes were not lying and a violent home invasion in Aurora, Colorado has upended the narrative the gang's activity is "limited."
Here's the latest from the Aurora Police Department on Dec. 17:
Police and local officials were hesitant to say the attackers were TdA, citing "lack of identifiers," but byTuesday evening, Aurora Police Department Chief Todd Chamberlain told reporters that the home invasion was "without question a gang incident."
Since Aurora Police Department's initial statement, four more were arrested, bringing the total arrests to 19.
At least 16 of the 19 have been taken into custody by ICE. The Denver Post reported that an ICE spokesperson said these individuals are in the country illegally and are either TdA members or affiliated with the Venezuelan gang. The male who was stabbed was one of the victims, although the wound was not life-threatening.
More details about what happened have come out as well.
The victims are a migrant couple, who were bound and held against their will. They were tortured, pistol whipped and the female victim had one of her fingernails forcibly removed by one of the attackers.
Incoming Trump administration Border Czar Tom Homan had harsh words for the Aurora Police chief
"So, he's talking the talk, but let's hope he walks the walk and hands these people to ICE when he's done with them, because we can remove them not only from the community but from the country," said Homan during an interview on "America Reports." "And if law enforcement officers don't help us do that, we're certainly going to do that starting January 21st."
Homan talked about the issue in an interview with FOX News, reiterating what he said in the "America Reports" interview, that "the only thing missing from Chamberlain’s press conference was an ICE agent standing next to him at the podium."

Related to illegal immigration and the surge of bad actors as a result, FOX New's Bill Melugin dropped some interesting statistics last week.
In a post on X, Melugin wrote about internal ICE data obtained by FOX News showing the nationalities of over 1.4 million illegal aliens who are in the United States and not in ICE custody despite deportation orders on them.
Melugin gave a list of the nationalities and their total numbers. Several of them are from countries considered foreign adversaries.
China 37,908
Haiti 32,363
Iran 2,618
Pakistan 7,760
Uzbekistan 975
Venezuela 22,749
Afghanistan 1,708
Mauritania 3,822
India 17,940
Brazil 38,677
“The majority of the 1.4+ million illegal immigrants ordered deported are from the easy to remove countries of the northern triangle and Mexico, and will likely be a starting point for Trump admin mass deportations along with violent criminals & public safety threats,” wrote Melugin, who then supplied the list below.
El Salvador 203,822
Honduras 261,651
Guatemala 253,413
Mexico 252,044
Melugin went on to write, “The ICE data also gives an official list of "recalcitrant" countries, countries that largely refuse to take back their own citizens for deportation and won't cooperate with the US. They are: Bhutan, Burma, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Laos, Pakistan, China, Russia, Somalia, and Venezuela.”
He also said that “data shows the number of illegal immigrants on ICE’s non detained docket w/ final orders of removal is 1,455,549 as of late November, the same number we previously reported via ICE sources.”
Melugin added that “On the final page, ICE explains why they can’t remove everyone who had been ordered deported.”
