Social media account drops more illegal alien arrests
@ImmigrantCrimes posted 10 more arrest that were made in 'sanctuary sheriff counties'
Last month, MTS dropped a story about over a dozen illegal aliens arrested for varying violent crimes in NC as documented by the X account @ImmigrantCrimes.
All of those arrests were in counties where the sheriff has opposed the use of ICE detainers or has outright said they won't honor them; more on that later in the article.
@ImmigrantCrimes has since added more North Carolina arrests.
Here's one in Beaufort County.
Three in Union County.
Brunswick County.
Two in Mecklenburg County.

Gaston County arrest for “indecent liberties with a child.”
These two are in Guilford County.

More To The Story
Sheriff's in Buncombe, Chatham, Durham, Forsyth, Guilford, Mecklenburg, Orange, and Wake Counties have all issued past and current statements opposing upholding ICE detainers.
Guilford County Sheriff Danny Rogers stated in 2019 he wasn't going to support such measures. Forsyth Sheriff Bobby Kimbrough made a similar claim that same year.
Chatham County Sheriff Mike Roberson was elected president of North Carolina Sheriffs’ Association in late July 2024. In 2018, he stated his deputies "no not enforce" federal immigration laws related to illegal aliens.
Sheriffs in Durham, Mecklenburg and Wake all issued statements in the past week reiterating they oppose any requirement to do so despite the legislature passing House Bill 10 this week; a bill that includes a requirement sheriffs cooperate with ICE and detain illegal aliens they arrest for 48 hours.
The @ImmigrantCrimes account also posted a screenshot of Vice President Kamala Harris' response to an ACLU candidate survey. Her response checks the "yes box" for the question "Will you commit to ending the use of ICE detainers?"
