Social media account documents illegal alien arrests, including those in NC
Crimes range from theft to assault and child rape to murder.
Crimes, many of them violent, that are being committed by illegal aliens have become a daily nationwide news item. That's not too surprising given that over 9 million illegal aliens (that we know of) have crossed the U.S. southern border under Biden-Harris and have been allowed to disperse across the country.
News outlets have done their best to downplay citizenship status in stories or even leave out of their reporting entirely whether or not an individual is in the country illegally or if they have an ICE detainer placed on them.
But it isn't just media outlets failing to give this information out. Some law enforcement agencies reporting these crimes are not giving this information out either — even when asked directly.
For example, a late July arrest in Hoke County where I asked the citizenship and/or ICE status of an individual was rebuffed.
Here is what the Hoke County Sheriff's Office issued about the arrest:
The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office announced on May 8, 2024, Deputies responded to a juvenile sexual offense in the 100 block of Eulon Loop. Detectives were notified, arrived on the scene, and began their investigation.
During the course of the investigation, a warrant for the arrest of the suspect, Mr. Andre Salvador Correia was issued for Statutory Sex Offenses with 13, 14, and 15-year-old (F, x1), Statutory Rape (F, x1), and Indecent Liberties with Child (F, x2). Due to the suspect, not being at the Hoke residence, the United States Marshal’s Services assisted with locating the suspect.
On July 19, 2024, at 10:16 p.m., the suspect called 911 to turn himself in. The suspect declined to speak with Detectives about the charges. The suspect was taken to Hoke County Detention Center and served with his warrant. The suspect was given no bond.
I emailed the sheriff's office asking for more details about this individual and was told "All of the information provided in the press release is all that is being released. The Detective Division has nothing further to report on the suspect."
I've asked for the arrest warrant document on Aug. 3, but have not yet received a response.
After making that request on Aug. 3., a reader sent me a link to an X account documenting these arrests called @ImmigrantCrimes.
A search of this account's posts revealed a disturbing number of instances in North Carolina, often posted with a screenshot of the ICE detainer search results for these individuals.
The crimes documented by this account occurring in North Carolina include, but are not limited to, theft (commercial and private) rape, statutory rape, numerous child sex crimes, drug trafficking, drugs sales, assault, attempted murder and murder.
Here are some of the posts by @ImmigrantCrimes from July and August of this year:

More To The Story
This report was particularly disturbing, as it involves child sex crimes, including first degree rape of a child, in not one, but two counties:
Chatham County and Guilford County, NC: Efrain Aguilar Sanchez, who now is on an immigration detainer hold, is facing child sexual assault charges in two NC counties. He was arrested last month but it appears the warrants were issued in March and April.
In Chatham, the charges are First Degree Rape of a Child, Felony Child Sex Abuse, and Indecency with a Child.
In Guilford, the Charges are four counts of First Degree Rape of a Child, two counts of Felony Child Sex Abuse, and First Degree Sex Offense of a Child.
@ImmigrantCrimes has also found arrests in which the sheriff has refused to honor ICE detainers.
One disturbing case involves an illegal alien from Honduras who was arrested in Texas in connection with a murder in Mecklenburg County. The sheriff in that North Carolina county is well-known for refusing to cooperate with ICE, however, ICE was apparently involved in the capture of this man. The case raises a big question of how he was able to escape North Carolina and end up over 1,000 miles away in Texas.
In the case below, the Durham Sheriff’s Office allegedly failed to honor a detainer on an individual twice.
It’s worth noting that Durham Sheriff Clarence Birkhead, criticized for being a “sanctuary sheriff” by refusing to honor ICE detainers, was named to NC Governor Roy Cooper’s crime commission in 2022. That same year, Cooper vetoed the bill that would require North Carolina sheriffs to cooperate with ICE.
Another bill tackling the ICE detainer issue was filed by Rep. Destin Hall (R-Caldwell) in 2023. That legislation, House Bill 10, is still active and sitting in a conference committee. Sources tell me that it will see movement when the legislature returns for its long session.
Quite a few posts in @ImmigrantCrimes' timeline show individuals arrested in North Carolina who have been deported multiple times in the past. Here's the most recent example:
Here's an account of an illegal alien arrested THREE times in 2023 alone for violent crimes involving women and children. He was allegedly released on bond after the first two arrests and was still able to post bond on the third arrest despite an ICE hold detainer placed on him. View the charges and release history for Alejandro on the Gaston County Inmate lookup page.
I dug around myself on Alejandro and found no additional court or detainer records on this individual. As to where he is now, as the post by @ImmigrantCrimes says, “Your guess is as good as mine."
