Wake County Democrat tweet includes image disparaging parents
Image decpicts the public and parents engaged in education issues as conspiracy theorists, white supremacists, anti-vax, and Jan. 6 protesters.
On Jan. 15, the Wake County Democrats issued a Tweet in support of certain Wake County School board members, notably leaving out member Karen Carter.
The tweet, which was later deleted, includes an image apparently depicting school board attendees (parents) as conspiracy theorists, white supremacists, anti-vax, and Jan. 6 protesters.
Board members Heather Scott and Jim Martin “liked” the tweet.
I've reached out to Wake Democrats Chair Kevyn Creech to see if they will tell me who on their staff tweeted that and why they felt the need to include that image. This article will be updated with any response that is received.
Update: The Wake County Democrat party doubled down on the tweet on Jan. 16.

The original tweet garnered some angry responses.






North Carolina legislator Rep. Erin Paré (R-Wake) has called for the Wake County School Board members to denounce the “bad faith, inappropriate, and insensitive cartoon” they tweeted out:




As of Jan. 18, no Wake County Board members have publicly responded, however, the chair of the Wake County Democrats has backpedaled on the previously posted tweets, which have apparently been deleted.
