Last night was President Donald Trump’s first speech to Congress since taking office for his second term in the White House.
Trump's full address via the White House YouTube channel is below and a transcript can be accessed here.
There were shenanigans; mainly Rep. Al Green, who Speaker Mike Johnson had escorted out by the Sergeant at Arms after he refused to stop interrupting the President.
The White House has wasted no time in calling out in detail how Democrats behaved during Trump’s address.
Democrats in general exhibited the same kind of behavior as they did during Trump's first presidency, such as refusing to stand for any part of the speech - including for special guest recognition.
It really makes one question how one would refuse to applaud a child cancer survivor.
"D.J. Daniel joined President Trump at the Joint Session—a 13-year-old battling cancer who has been sworn in as an honorary officer over 900 times," wrote the White House's official X account. "President Trump made his dream come true, swearing him in as a Secret Service agent."
This is a next level 13-year-old.
Here's the President swearing D.J. in as an honorary Secret Service agent:
Democrats also refused to stand to honor Laken Riley, the young woman violently murdered by an illegal alien.
Then there were the protest paddles.
This did not go how Democrats probably thought it would, with the protest paddles widely mocked — even by left-leaning late night hosts.

What did the viewers think?
Well, CNN's own polling found 66% said the country is going in the right direction under Trump. Remember, NBC News' November 2024 Exit Poll had 73% of voters angry/dissatisfied with the country’s direction under Biden and 40% approved of his job performance at that time.
Sitting on CNN's watch panel, David Axelrod was unimpressed with Democrats in attendance.
"I think there were times when [Democrats] should've risen," said Axelrod.
He also said, "I think what Al Green did was despicable."
The 76% approval clocked by CBS YouGov Poll of 1,027 adults who watched the address should make Democrats nervous.
So should these results.
And finally, very high approval ratings for Trump’s actions on the big items he promised to tackle as president - even on tariffs.

I’ve told folks before, watch for the scripted remarks. Check out this clip of Senators Schumer, Warren, and Booker caught using the same script “word-for-word.”
