Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents (ICE) are rounding up criminal illegal aliens at a breakneck pace.
ICE's account on X is regularly posting arrest and detainer stats like this one.
The White House's X account is dishing on the worst of the worst that have been arrested so far.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is out leading the raids herself.
"Dirtbags like this will continue to be removed from our streets,” she said in a post on X that included video of arrests being made.
FOX News had an interesting graphic on ICE's numbers from Jan. 21 through Jan. 27. More raids have occurred in the days since that report, so the total has risen.
FOX News' Bill Melugin reports that "Border Patrol recorded just 582 illegal crossings at the southern border yesterday, with not a single one of the nine sectors hitting 200. I’ve never seen anything this low in all of my border coverage."
The arrest and deportations pace needs to increase, however. Not including gotaways, based on the over ten million illegal aliens former President Biden let into the country, ICE will likely need to double its currently daily arrests to 1,000 a day. To reverse Biden’s open border crisis, that would also mean deportation rates would likely require at least 6 to 7,000 illegal aliens being shipped out per day.
We also saw Mexican cartels firing on U.S. Border and Customs agents in Texas this week. Video of the incident can be viewed here.
Meanwhile, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt shared a number of photos like the one below that were taken at the border.
Also this past week, ICE's raids netting 50 arrests in Colorado have proven President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance to have been correct about Tren de Aragua operating in that state.
More To The Story
And the hits keep coming with the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform launching an official investigation into sanctuary cities.
A hearing date has been set for Feb. 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. EST and will likely be broadcast live on the Committee's YouTube channel.
Here is who the Committee is calling to testify:
In deportation news, Colombia apparently tried to refuse flights filled with deportees. President Trump reacted in a statement on Truth Social enumerating immediate "retaliatory measures."
"I was just informed that two repatriation flights from the United States, with a large number of Illegal Criminals, were not allowed to land in Colombia. This order was given by Colombia’s Socialist President Gustavo Petro, who is already very unpopular amongst his people. Petro’s denial of these flights has jeopardized the National Security and Public Safety of the United States, so I have directed my Administration to immediately take the following urgent and decisive retaliatory measures:
-Emergency 25% tariffs on all goods coming into the United States. In one week, the 25% tariffs will be raised to 50%.
-A Travel Ban and immediate Visa Revocations on the Colombian Government Officials, and all Allies and Supporters.
-Visa Sanctions on all Party Members, Family Members, and Supporters of the Colombian Government.
-Enhanced Customs and Border Protection Inspections of all Colombian Nationals and Cargo on national security grounds.
-IEEPA Treasury, Banking and Financial Sanctions to be fully imposed.
These measures are just the beginning. We will not allow the Colombian Government to violate its legal obligations with regard to the acceptance and return of the Criminals they forced into the United States!"
Colombia quickly reversed its position. Here's the White House's statement on the reversal:
"The Government of Colombia has agreed to all of President Trump’s terms, including the unrestricted acceptance of all illegal aliens from Colombia returned from the United States, including on U.S. military aircraft, without limitation or delay.
Based on this agreement, the fully drafted IEEPA tariffs and sanctions will be held in reserve, and not signed, unless Colombia fails to honor this agreement.
The visa sanctions issued by the State Department, and enhanced inspections from Customs and Border Protection, will remain in effect until the first planeload of Colombian deportees is successfully returned.Today’s events make clear to the world that America is respected again. President Trump will continue to fiercely protect our nation's sovereignty, and he expects all other nations of the world to fully cooperate in accepting the deportation of their citizens illegally present in the United States."
