Emails confirm CDC tracking individuals COVID vaccination status
The report follows a report in May 2022 that the CDC used cell data to track the public's movements during lockdowns
A report by the Epoch Times revealed that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has created medical codes for the purpose of tracking an individual’s COVID-19 vaccination status.
Excerpt:
Medical codes introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic to show when people are unvaccinated or undervaccinated for COVID-19 are being used to track people, the top U.S. public health agency has confirmed.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) made the confirmation in emails that The Epoch Times obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request.
The CDC had said in documents and public statements that the goal of the new codes in the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) system, was “to track people who are not immunized or only partially immunized.”
The CDC now says it doesn’t have access to the data, but that health care systems do.
“The ICD codes were implemented in April 2022, however, the CDC does not have any data on the codes and does not track this information,” CDC officials said in the emails.
“The codes were created to enable healthcare providers to track within their practices.”
The emails were sent to news outlets. The CDC hasn’t answered queries from The Epoch Times about the codes, which the CDC added to the U.S. ICD system in 2022
The full article is much longer and has additional details, including attempts by Congress to get answers from the CDC on the matter.
More To The Story
The Epoch Times report comes nearly a year after it was revealed that the CDC had bought data for millions of U.S. cell phone users in order to track the public’s movements during COVID-19 lockdowns.
The story reported by the NY Post cites another report by an online outlet called VICE. Per the NY Post, the CDC “specifically monitored” those attending churches as well as schools.
The CDC specifically monitored Americans’ visits to churches and schools, as well as “detailed counts of visits to participating pharmacies for vaccine monitoring,” internal documents from the federal agency obtained by Vice show.
The CDC also reportedly tracked peoples’ movement during curfews and visits between neighbors.
A controversial “data broker” called SafeGraph initially provided the data to the CDC for free during the outbreak of the pandemic, the documents show. Then in 2021, the CDC reportedly hatched a deal to pay the company $420,000 for continued access.
Unsaid in the NY Post and VICE report is the implication that the CDC tracking visits to “schools” likely meant children were being monitored. Additionally, there is an unanswered question of whether or not the CDC is still tracking Americans using cell data.
In related news, on April 11, President Biden finally signed the bill ending the national COVID-19 emergency first declared on Mar. 13, 2020, by former President Donald Trump.
Biden had originally announced in January that he was choosing to end the emergency on May 11.
Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) sponsored the bill terminating the COVID-19 emergency and it was filed on Jan. 9 of this year. The bill passed the Senate with significant bipartisan support in a 68-23 vote after passing the House with heavy Republican backing.
