COVID is over.

As of Feb. 28, the number of patients presumed to be recovered in North Carolina stands at 2,534,052, according to the NC Department of Health and Human Services dashboard. The dashboard says there have been a total of 2,598,014 cases since March of 2020. Based on those two numbers, the percentage rate of those who have recovered in the state is 97.53%.

The last to be freed are those least vulnerable to the virus, K-12 students in the state’s two largest districts; Wake County and Mecklenburg. Forced masking of those students ends today, March 7.
